Friends of mine will know that I love nothing more than an unique piece of locally made artwork – it beats mass-made tourist souvenirs when you’re abroad and it provides an original style to your home. I’ve been following the Putney Artists Open House trail ever since I moved to London and have always come home with some special pieces. This year was no exception – I can’t wait to display flowers in this ceramic jug or use it to serve homemade elderflower cordial. The sketch, by Margaret Knott, is supposed to be a gift but I like it so much I might have to make it a gift to myself – we all need to treat ourselves now and then 😉
If you’re taking part next weekend (12-13 October), be sure to visit Ann Hawksley – an exceptionally talented artist and one my Putney WI’s members!
Oh that jug is lovely… I can see why you fell for it. It’s always so much more special to buy something handmade.
