How to tie the perfect bow

DSC_0347

Wrapping your presents last minute? Well make sure they look extra special by finishing them each off with a neatly tied ribbon bow. For years, the art has eluded me. So this year, I decided to sit down and teach myself how to do it properly – with the help of Kirstie Allsopp’s Christmas Crafts book. Fortunately it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be – more a case of practise makes perfect!

You will need

Length off ribbon

Scissors

1. With your ribbon wrapped once around your gift, hold both ends together to ensure they are the same length.

2. Tie a single knot and make the first loop for a bow. Now, going in the opposite direction to the one you usually take to make a bow, take the ribbon for the second loop to the left and around the first loop. Feed it through the back from the left and tighten the bow.
