I don’t know about you but I’m feeling incredibly festive this year. Even more so since the weather’s taken a turn to winter with frosty mornings, nose-rosening days and fire-curling evenings – my favourite. Yesterday was a particular case in point. I had to de-ice the car before setting off to the annual Burbage Christmas Tree Sale. But numb fingers were worth it.

For those of you who’ve never been, the Burbage Christmas Tree Sale is somewhat of an annual institution in the area – being not just an opportunity to purchase local British trees for knock-down prices and for a good cause (all money raised goes to the Church), but also as a meeting place. The air was filled with the sound of friendly chatter mingling with carols sung by the wonderful Pewsey Belles and the scent of mulling apple juice.
