Waking up yesterday to glorious sunshine – and with the threat of rain to come – there was only one option: a lovely countryside walk somewhere special. And what better place than the National Trust’s wonderful Stourhead site. One of my favourite places, but somewhere I’ve not been in many years, it seemed overdue a visit. I met up with a close friend and her staffie Cosmo, for a little stroll around the lake, which was looking rather spectacular in the soft spring light. We even managed to enjoy an outdoors cup of hot chocolate – a sure sign that winter is well and truly behind us.
