I’m excited to be part of a local initiative to set up community bee hives in Wiltshire. It’s part of a project to not just keep bees for their honey, but to actually breed them, to help increase the numbers of these (and other) vital pollinators. We’ve been fortunate enough to get support from a local school, which is where the hives will be kept. This week saw the team start to prepare the site, ready for the hives and bees to arrive in April and May. Here are some pictures before the clearing got underway. As you can see there’s a lot to do!
