Imagine these, hand crafted in a myriad colours, hung from branches or window frames and swaying gently in the breeze. The humble pom pom is a make I’ve long wanted to master but never had the opportunity to try. That is until I attended The Good Life Experience at the Hawarden Estate in Flintshire this month, where, courtesy of The WI, I was shown how to fold and pleat tissue paper into this cheery creation. I was amazed at how quick and easy they were to make. Simple take two sheets of A3 tissue paper, in the same or contrasting colours. With one placed on top of the other, fold them in half three times, then trim around all the edges. Next pleat (about 1-1.5cm folds) before tying a piece of string around the middle and carefully separating out the layers, scrunching as you go.
